Vice President for Vehicle Engineering, NIO – Day 2

Roger Malkusson holds a MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology. After 20 years at Saab Automobile having different positions like Head of Technology Research and Complete Vehicle Development he got an assignment year 2005 building up General Motors Joint Venture Engineering Center in Shanghai. After 5 years at Qoros – a Chinese start-up company received second most positive media respons at Geneva Autoshow 2013 – he has since 2015 had the role as Vice President for Vehicle Engineering at another Shanghai-based start-up company NIO. NIO is an Electrical Vehicle company bringing break-through technologies and an innovative business model to the market with the aim to bring a joyful user experience to the customers using e.g Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Driving technology.
Robin Teigland is a professor of business administration, with a specialization in strategy and digitization, at the Stockholm School of Economics. Her research interests lie at the intersection between strategy, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She focuses on how the Internet, social media, crypto-currency, and other new technologies such as 3D printers enable self-organizing groups to create value beyond a company’s traditional boundaries, challenging the long-standing institutional structures and create new informal networks. Robin Teigland has also been called Sweden’s startup professor.
